The common assumption is that a drill-free mount must involve a more complicated installation. If you’re not drilling, something else must be holding it on, and that something must take more time or more skill.
That assumption is wrong. An ACARI mount installs in about 30 minutes with basic hand tools. One person can complete the installation. There’s no drilling, no sealant, no curing time, and no body shop involved. The same simple process applies across ACARI’s lineup, including the LP Series and AT Series.
What You Need
A socket set and a screw gun. That covers what you need for the installation. Nothing else is required.
How Long It Takes
About 30 minutes for a first-time installer. Experienced installers work faster. One person handles the job from start to finish.
What the Installation Process Looks Like
The process is straightforward. Installation begins with removing the factory cab brake light. From there, clamps are fed through the existing factory holes in the vehicle, tightened down, and the factory brake light is reinstalled on the back of the ACARI mount. The mount uses factory holes that are already in the vehicle. No new holes are created.
All accessory wiring is contained inside the mount and passes directly into the cab. There are no exposed wires on the outside of the vehicle. The finished install looks clean because the engineering behind it is clean.
Watch the full installation walkthrough below, or see it on our Instructions & Installation page.
What Removal Looks Like
Removal is the reverse of installation. Take the brake light off the back of the mount, remove the clamps, and reinstall the factory brake light where it was. The vehicle looks exactly as it did before. No holes to fill, no sealant residue, no evidence anything was ever mounted there.
For fleet operators this matters at two points: when a vehicle changes roles and the upfit needs to change, and when the vehicle goes to auction at end of service life. A clean removal protects remarketing value and eliminates the cost of body repair that drilled vehicles typically require before remarketing.
Transferring the Mount to Another Vehicle
ACARI mounts can often be transferred between the same make and model, provided the vehicle manufacturer has not made body style changes between those model years. For fleet operators on regular replacement cycles, the mount moves with the unit rather than being retired with the vehicle.
Use the Fit Guide to confirm compatibility before transferring to a replacement vehicle.
Why This Matters for Fleet Operators
A 30-minute installation with no specialty equipment changes the math on upfit costs. Labor time per vehicle is predictable. The process is repeatable. And because there’s no drilling, there’s no downstream cost at auction from roof damage.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a professional installer for an ACARI mount?
No. ACARI mounts are designed for installation with basic hand tools. Full installation instructions and video are available on our Instructions & Installation page.
Can one person complete the installation?
Yes. One person handles the full installation from start to finish.
Are there exposed wires on the outside of the vehicle after installation?
No. All accessory wiring is contained inside the mount and passes directly into the cab.
How long does removal take?
Roughly the same amount of time as installation. Removal is the reverse of the install process and leaves the vehicle with no marks or damage.
What if I install it and something doesn’t fit correctly?
Confirm your vehicle in the Fit Guide before starting. If something comes up during installation, contact us directly and we can walk you through it.
